June 10 @ 8h00 - June 21 @ 17h00

Algeria Shines at the Global Cultural Village in Mexico 2026

Algeria is participating in the activities of the Global Cultural Village in Mexico 2026, organized from June 10 to 21, 2026, as part of the cultural program running parallel to the 2026 FIFA World Cup. This presence reflects the implementation of the State’s strategic vision aimed at enhancing its international cultural presence and promoting its civilization’s outreach.

This participation falls within the framework of strengthening Algeria’s international cultural presence and introducing its modern image, which is deeply rooted in its history and civilization, proud of its national identity, and open to the values of dialogue and cultural exchange between peoples.

An exhibition space of 48 square meters has been allocated to the Algerian pavilion, equipped with an integrated program that highlights Algeria’s developmental, cultural, and tourism potentials. It aims to enhance its international cultural outreach and establish its position as a promising cultural and tourist destination, while promoting the tangible and intangible cultural heritage elements inscribed or nominated for inscription on UNESCO lists, and introducing the historical legacy and national symbols that contributed to making Algeria’s glories and shaping its collective memory.

The pavilion includes an exhibition of traditional Algerian crafts and art professions, featuring samples of Zellige, artistic ceramics, traditional jewelry, glass painting, and fine arts, alongside a photographic exhibition documenting the elements of Algerian cultural heritage and immortal national figures, led by Emir Abdelkader.

A curated collection of national publications with cultural, historical, and artistic dimensions is on display, as well as an exhibition of traditional Algerian costumes in all their geographical and cultural diversity, such as the Caftan, Karakou, Blousa, and Melhafa Chaouie, accompanied by introductory explanations about their historical, social, and aesthetic dimensions.

Visitors to the pavilion can discover the tourism, cultural, and natural assets that Algeria abounds in through high-quality audiovisual materials, in addition to a tasting corner for traditional Algerian foods that reflect the richness of the national food heritage and the diversity of its civilization’s influences.

The public will also enjoy live artistic performances that embody the richness and diversity of the Algerian musical heritage, by presenting authentic heritage and artistic genres, such as Zorna, Tbala, Aissaoua, and others.

This qualitative participation confirms Algeria’s keenness, under the wise leadership of Mr. President of the Republic, to strengthen its cultural presence in major international forums, and to consolidate its position as a country with deep-rooted historical depth and a renewed cultural legacy, contributing effectively to the dialogue between cultures and building bridges of understanding and rapprochement between peoples
